    After the War of Spanish Succession, the peace treaty encouraged France to cede their North American holdings, and Spain to give Britain control of their West African slave trade. Spain also gave the Britain the right to send one ship full of merchandise to sell to Spanish ports annually. This event shows a change in purpose of Warfare from expanding territory or proving empirical superiority to very economical.

    Somewhat an extension of the baroque era, this style is characterized by pastels, soft looks, and ornate interiors. This style reflected the delicate thinking and greater sentiments that existed during the conversations of the elite. The style was a reflection of changing social patterns. The affluent, leaders of Enlightenment thinking, artists, and patrons meeting and regularly conversing in salons and the rise of salon society is reflected in rocco art.

This viewpoint and similar publications written by dfiferent enlightenment thinkers would encourage a divide in society between those of european decent and those of other decent. An example of this is the laws in Saint-Domingue which prohibited whites from marrying non-whites.

    From the 1760s- 1817, Parliament would encourage the growth of the enclosure movement. This movement would drastically change rural economy and society. It would create larger numbers of landless, rural proletariat, and large numbers of landless, rural poor. A new rural industry based on the putting out system would gain fervor and it would be the precurser to the urban industrial revolution.

    The Spanish empire gained it's glory once more as silver mining picked up again in the new areas it had taken in the new world. Louisiana and the influence over the land all the way to northern california. These new sources of mining and ranching would boost the mercantalist Spanish economy. Allowing it to take a dominating role in global economy once again.

His reforms to make a more knowledgeable society, a better functioning judicial system and bureaucracy for his subjects, and more efficient farming techniques. He would be a role model in the growing idea of monarchs for the people.

    This publication, written by Adam Smith, would encourage governments to shift from enacting mercantilist economic policies to more free market economy where the invisible hand and capitalism would rein. Instead of crown sponsored/supported businesses gaining power, this shift would enable a wealthy middle class of independent business owners.

    Slaves were an important part of the Atlantic economy. They were traded as part of the triangular trade network. In which African slaves were traded in the Americas to work on plantations which produced raw goods to trade with European mother countries who produced manufactured goods to sell back to America and Africa. Slaves were an important good for this economic process, an asset to the growth of European dominance over international trade.

    The abolitionist movement was the first mass movement of public opinion in Britain. British women led many parts in this movement. Which was a large shift in the societal standing of Women in Europe but also the power of the people to influence economy and politics.
