George Whitefield started the Great Awakening with many converts to Christianity. Johnathon Edwards also was a very big part in the converts of the Great Awankening.

American Revolution Starts

The 13 colonies start a war against Great Britain.

Declaration of Independence is Published

Jul 4, 1776

Thomas Jefferson writes and publishes the Declaration of Independence of the United States.

Washington Crosses the Delaware

Dec 25, 1776

George Washinton and his army crosses the Delaware River and does a surprise attack. This turned the shift of the war and led to victory.

American Revolution Ends

Sep 3, 1783

Parliament sent articles of peace ending the American Revolution.

Constitution is Effective

Mar 4, 1789

The Constitution of the United States is put into effect.

First President is Elected

Apr 30, 1789

George Washington is elected as the first U.S. president after getting 69 votes.

Fugitive Slave Act is Passed

Feb 12, 1793

The FUgitive slave Act is passed making people return slaves to their owners.
