    The Massachusetts Bay Colony was founded in 1628 and established by the puritans in 1630. The puritans set this colony up as a society that believed in God, this became a very religious colony.
  • 1642

    The house of Burgess was an assembly that created the first legislative and democratic government in America.
  • 1651

    The navigation act started in 1651, this was a act that required all trade between the England and colonies that were carried in colonial vessels. This resulted in the Anglo-Dutch war in 1652.
  • 1675-1676

    Bacon's rebellion took place during 1675-1676, this rebellion started because colonists wanted to restrict overly priced British goods. This cause natives and colonists to have tension and started slavery.
  • 1683

    Pennsylvania was founded by William Penn in 1683. This was a religious colony that served as a refuge for Quakers and other religions.
  • 1692

    The Salem witch trials happened in 1692 when a group of girls Salem village, Massachusetts, claimed to be possessed by the evil and blamed many women of witch craft.

    In 1695, a war took place called King Philip's war or in other words the first Indian war. This was a war between Northeastern woodlands and the New England colonies.
