Battle of Jamestown
The Battle of Jamestown was the first battle between the Colony of Virginia and the Powhatan Confederacy. The English (Colony of Virginia) had an advantage because of their weaponry used in the battle. Their general was killed but only 23 English soldiers died compared to the 105 Powhatan deaths. The Colony of Virginia won this battle with the advantage of better weaponry. The attack lasted from 1622 to 1646 when Opechancanough was captured. -
New Amsterdam
New Amsterdam was founded when the Dutch West Indian Company established it. A market place was in the center of the settlement and the fort was also built on two streets connecting to two gates. -

The Pequot War
This war was an armed conflict in New England between the Pequot tribe and the colonists of Mass. Bay, Plymouth, and Saybrook colonies. This war began because of the struggle of trade. The Pequot were defeated with about 700 of their men being killed or taken captive. -

Salem Witch Trials
The Salem witch trials were a series of hearings and prosecutions of those who were accused of witchcraft. More than 200 people were accused of using witchcraft. In the end, it caused 19 "witches" to be hanged and many others to be imprisoned.
