Jamestown was established
This was the first American establishment. This was located in Virginia. About 100 people who were called the Virginia Company founded this town near the James River. -
First Anglo-Powhatan War
This was lasted until 1614. The Powhatan ordered an attack on Jamestown, due to the English trying to pressure the tribe into helping them make it through the winters that they were not use to. This also caused issues along the James River. -
Second group of settlers arrive!
Jamestown was failing,because of sickness and fights with the Native Americans.The second group of setters helped when they showed up with more supplies. -
Pocahontas
Captain Argall captured the Powhatan's daughter and used her a leverage to make peace. -
The first meeting of the House of Burgesses in Virginia, and the first slaves were brought to Jamestown.
The people met in the church in Jamestown. Among the people were Governor Yeardley, those who represent the plantations, and the council. This was the first elected legislative group. -
Plymouth in Massachusetts is established. The Mayflower Compact is signed.
The Mayflower Compact was an agreement that formed the government for that colony. -
Pennsylvania
William Penn formed the colony of Pennsylvania. He wanted to have peace with the indians, and to be able to spread houses out along the river. -
Population has grown to over 50,000 in the colonies.

New York!
English take over New Amsterdam, from the Dutch, and rename it New York. -
King Phillip's War
This war ended in 1678. It was between the inhabited indians of New England and the new colonist and their indian allies.
