In 1607, a group of men from England came over to america to start a settlement and chose Jamestown. It was named after king James and was the first permenant english settlement in North America.

In 1609-1610, Jamestown went through a starving time. Due to their crops not doing good, drought, and disease, there was little to no food so the people of Jamestown had to resort to eating horses, leather and even dead people in order to survive.
