    Pocahontas Marries John Rolfe. Pocahontas married Jon Rolfe. Jamestown Colony is still successful.

    The Virginia House of Burgesses hold their first Democratic Meeting. The founders such as Thomas Hooker believed in a free consent of Government.

    The first African slaves come to america. These first slaves were taken into Jamestown.

    Women pioneers in the English Colonies of Jamestown and Plymouth Plantation, made the colonies successful.

    Sir Ferdinando Gorges is given a land grant and begins to settle which will eventually become Maine.

    Massachusetts Bay Colony takes over the jurisdiction of New Hampshire.

    Anne Hutchinson and Anne Bradstreet were women leaders in the Massachusetts Bay Colony; Bradstreet the first of America's many women writers. Hutchinson who was responsible for the Rhode Island founding, while later, women were found killed in Salem for practicing witchcraft.
