Intellectual Development: They look for dropped objects. They begin to understand the meaning of "No". Physical Development: Baby can stand holding on to something and can pull themselves into a standing position. Emotional Development: They show a specific emotional attachment to mom. Social Development: They respond to their own name. -
9 months
Intellectual Development: Baby gains mantal associaation, knows what is behind the door even though they cannot see it. Physical Development: They can stand alone momentarily. They can drink independently. Emotional Development: Can say "Mama" or "Dada". Social Development: They can wave "bye-bye". -
10 Months
Intellectual Development: Baby becomes aware of harmful objects or situations. Physical Development: They can walk holding on to furniture. Emotional Development: Baby usually says "Dada" first, and "Mama" second as well as other "gibberish" words. Social Development: They like to play Patty Cake. -
11 Months
Intellectual Development: Word association is very important. Physical Development: Baby can stand alone. Emotional Development: They love to play Patty Cake. Social Development: Now understand the word "No". -
12 Months
Physical Development: Baby can walk holding onto furniture. Emotional/Social Development: They can now give and take objects from someone.
