  • Constitution signed

    The constitution was signed and ratified by the states after debate between the federalists and antifederalists. Begins the period of c completely new government.
  • George Washington inagurated

    George Washington gains the unanimous vote in the electoral college as well as with the people and he soon was elected as the first president of the United States.
  • Hamiton's plan approved

    Hamilton's propsed plan for funding and assumption was approved by Congress. It intended to reduce the power of the federal government and also provided a system for reducing the national debt obtained during the Revolution.
  • Bank of United States chartered

    The first bank of the United States which would own millions of dollars in US bonds and was designed by Alexander Hamilton, its financial stability would be tied directly to the federal government.
  • Report on Manufactures rejected

    It was proposed by Hamilton as a way to suggest ways to the federal government on stimulating manufacturing by use of protective tariffs and special industrial bounties.
  • French Revolution

    France's revolutionary government as well as the people announce a war of all people against all kings. Meaning they declared war on Great Britain, causing tension between US and France.
  • Proclamation of Neutrality

    George Washington issues the proclamation of neutrality, which declaring the nation neutral in the conflict between France and Great Britain. It threatened legal proceedings against any American providing assistance to warring countries

    Thomas Jefferson resignes as the secratary of state

    Whiskey Rebellion

    a rebellion of farmers against the government due to a tax on whiskey, this rebellion revealed the importance of paying attention instead od dealing only with differences among political parties.
  • Battle of Fallen Timber

    US forces led by General Anthony Wayne defeat tribe of Indians in the Northwest Territory.
  • Jays Treaty

    It caused an outcry throughout the nation both within the people of the nation as well as the government and the House of Representatives
  • Pinckney Treaty

    It is welcomed and resulted in the opening of mississippi and New Orleans for trade and the deposit of goods, also stated they would stay out of Indian affairs, and a secure southern boundary on the 31st parallel.

    It was an undeclared war fought mostly at sea between the United States and French Republic due to the XYZ affair and the US communications with Great Britain
  • Virginia and Kentucky Resolutions

    Protest the Alien and Sedition Acts and give states the right to declare a bill unconstitutional in Congress and mainly gave the states more rights all together
  • Convention of Mortefontaine

    Treaty and document that ended the Quasi-War between the French and Americans. It also removed the annoying French restrictions on the United States commerce.
  • Thomas Jefferson elected

    Thomas Jefferson tied with Aaron Burr with 73 votes but won the states 12 to 4 and he was elected as president, resulting in a period known as the Peaceful Revolution.
