    A new beginning
    Walter Raleigh sent over 100 men to Roanoke Island, given permission by Queen Elizabeth. All the men in 1586 returned to England because they were late to harvest. And only fifteen men came back we the thing they needed and stayed in their fort they made previously.
  • Return to Roanoke Island

    Return to Roanoke Island
    Walter Raleigh sent another 100 people, with women and children, to make their settlement permanent. But when they arrived, all men who stayed there previously got killed by some Native Americans.
  • "Croatoan"

    "Croatoan"
    When John White can back to Roanoke Island with the supplies, but everybody was gone! The only thing left was the word "Croatoan" carved on a tree. Because Coatoan is a tribe, so White wanted to ask them about the disappearance. But there was a hurricane coming so he had to go back to England. So, after that, the Island was called "The Lost Colony".
  • Jamestown

    Jamestown
    John Smith with 100 landed on James River (which is Virginia) built a fort by the banks there. But because the winters were really cold and they were running out of food, only 60 men were able to survive. And so the men found America's first permanent colony, Jamestown! But also, Smith was captured by the Powhatans and was going to be executed. But Pocahontas, the chief of the Powhatans daughter decided to come in and save John Smith.

    This was the year of the first election assembly! The House of Burgesses was the name. In the same year, African Americans came to Jamestown. And also, slavery happened, the colonists first used Native Americans for workers, but then they started dying because of overworking. So, the colonists went to Africa and captured people to become slaves for them.

    The Mayflower (and how Plymouth Rock, Massachusetts was found)
    The Mayflower filled with Pilgrims sailed to Plymouth Rock, Massachusetts even though they planned to sail to Jamestown in 1620. A baby was born on board and was named Oceanus Hopkins. And the Pilgrims first government was called the Mayflower Compact.

    The first Thanksgiving was held with the Wampanoags and the Pilgrims after the their successful harvest. Plus, they celebrated for three days!

    New Hampshire was establishes by John Wheelright.
  • Delaware was established

    Delaware was established
    Delaware was found by Peter Minuit and New Sweden Company.
  • New Jersey was founded

    New Jersey was established by Lord Berkeley and Sir George Carteret.
  • Pennsylvania was established

    Pennsylvania was established
    Pennsylvania was found by William Penn.
  • The Boston Massacre

    The Boston Massacre
    The American Patriots would throw thing during the Boston Massacre, like snowballs, sticks, etc. An object hit one of the soldiers. And he fired his bayonet, seconds later with the other soldiers.Three men died by bullet and two died by their wounds. After that, the soldiers were put into trail.

    A group of men dressed as Native Americans came onto three British ships. Why? Because this all started when the British taxed the colonists on tea. A men took all of the tea and dump them into the ocean.
  • The Declaration of Independence

    The Declaration of Independence
    Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, and Thomas Jefferson signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776. The Declaration of Independence was signed because the Colonists wanted to be their own government. To be free from the British's control, to have a life, to have happiness, and to have liberty.
