    In 1585 , Oueen Elizabeth allowed Walter Raleigh to send over 100 men to Roanoke Island.

    In 1587 the poeple with John White found out the men were killed by some of Walter Raleigh's people.

    In 1607 a group of over 100 men landed on the banks of Virginia's James River. They were immediately attacked by some of Raleigh's people.

  • 1609

    In 1609 John Smith became ill. Four years later he died.

    In 1619 the House of Burgesses was formed in Jamestown.

    In 1620 the pilgrims landed in Plymouth on the Mayflower.
