    Macbeth defeated Macdonwald, the armies of the King of Norway, and the Scottish traitor.

    The witches meet Macbeth. They prophesize that Macbeth will become thane of Cawdor and king. They also say Banquo will be the father of future kings.

    Macbeth is the new King of Cawdor. Macbeth is astonished that the prophecy came true. As a result, he is now thinking about killing King Duncan.

    Duncan decides to visit Macbeth's castle.

    Lady Macbeth calls Macbeth a coward for wanting to not kill Duncan.
