The Boston Massacre happened on march 5 1770. That night a group of of protesters hit one of the british guards in the head. That started a riot, witch ended with the british killing 5 english men. -

Boston Tea Party
The high tax on the new tea from England made the colonists so angry that they went onboard the english ships and through the tea overboard. The next morning the colonsits went out to destroy any tea floating in the ocean. -
Intolerable Acts
The intolerable acts stated that, Boston Harbor would be closed until boston paid for all the tea they destoyed. second the quartering act took place and it said that each colonist had to house british soldiers. -
First continental congress
The First Continental Congress was a group of colonial leaders that get together so they can talk about the problems between Great Britain and the colonies. -
Lexington & Concord
On the outskirts of boston only a few miles out, there were colonists liveing and they were stockpileing wepons. The british caught wind of this and the british took control. The british went to look for the wepons but when they got there the wepons were not there, so they did not find them. -

Is a group of men from the colonies that were not all unified. The group of men discused problems in the colonies and they had to fix them. They also made the Declaration of Independence. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
In the battle of bunker hill the british attacked the american troops. The british won the battle because the american troops ran out of amo, so they had to retreat. The british suffered heavy losses. -
Olive Branch Petition
This act by congress was to agree with Great Britain instead of haveing a full blown war. This was act to try to stop a war from happening but it was to late. -
Declaration of Rights
The Declaration of Rights said that if the goverenment was rong and the people had the right then they could go against the goverenment if nessecary. It also stated that all men have the same rights. -

When the british took control of New York and Long Island they had no problem, Washington thought that the problem was elsewere so he took his men out of new york, The british did not even have to fire a shot. -

The British took control of Philadephia after the battle of brandywine creek. They took the city no problem not even a shot was fired. -

In Saratogo New York the british and the americans were both dug in.After a few battles the american out numbered the british three to one. The british finally gave up and surendered. -
Valley Forge
The winter at Valley Forge was one of the worst winters ever. That winter the men at valley forge suffured suvierly with nothing to eat and barly any cloths to wear. Some men took old shoes and boiled them then ate them. -

In the siege of Charleston the british bombed the city makeing sure they did not destroy the whole city. The british took control of charleston after a few months of bombing and some short fighting they had no problem takeing the city. -

John Paul Jones was a pirate in a sort. He went around destroying british ships and he would steel there goods and sometimes he would take so prisoners as well. -

In the battle of Yorktown in Virginia its was one of the last battles of the revolutionary war. When the battle was over the american captured 8000 british men the largest army in the america at the time. When they surendered they sent a drummer and one soldier with a white flag. -
Treaty of Paris (ending Revolutionary War)
This document formally ended the war between Great Britain and the United States. Other countries were in on it as well like spain, French, and the dutch republic.
