Great Britian's Parliament issued a tax on certin wines, sugar, coffee, and molasses. Those taxes were given to the British troops as thier pay during their time of survice. Many of the conlonist did not like this idea.

The Tea act was the final spark that made the coloinst very upset with Great Britian. They were taxing imported tea from around the globe. Colonist became angry with this, some dressed as Indians and dumped the boxes of tea into the Boston Harbour, to show how they felt about the taxation on tea.
