    French and Indian War
    The French and Indian War began because of hostility and problems over a course of time, it was bound to happen at some point. Colonists were mad at Britain therefor they clashed with them during the war.

    This act was the first tax put into place by the British without the citizens getting a voice in the decision . American colonists started to get angry with the taxes rising.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act directly taxed colonists and especially targeted printed materials. All printed materials had to have a costly stamp in order to be sold legally. The " Sons Of Liberty" coordinated rebellions which eventually worked and the Stamp Act was revoked.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    This act reminded the American colonists that Parliament had the power to tax them whenever they please. It was a firm way to make sure the colonists knew that they had to abide by their rules.
  • Townshed Act

    Townshed Act
    This act created a board of custom's which was specifically made to prosecute smugglers. This caused more boycotts and a group named " Daughters Of Liberty" started a rebellion similar to " Sons Of Liberty". They started making their own hand sewn clothes instead of using imported clothing from Britain.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    The taxes on tea were lowered if they were imported from the British East India company. The colonists were still mad because of the principle of the situation. A universal product such as tea being taxed shows how Britain could tax anything if they wanted to.
  • Beginning Of Revolutionary War

    Beginning Of Revolutionary War
    This war began because the British had continued to tax the colonists and acts such as the intolerable acts were put into place. Colonists began to tar and feather the tax collectors which eventually lead to the war beginning.
