  • Robert Borden Becomes PM

    Robert Borden Becomes PM
Robert Borden was the Prime Minister of Canada for all of WW1. His time started in 1911 and ended in 1920. The pressure of the war caused his government to unprecedented levels of involvement in the day to day lives of citizens but didn’t affect widespread rationing or wage. Borden nearly tore the country apart in a decision in the war field but was then re-elected for 2 more years after WW1.
  • Canada Joins The British Empire, Declares War On Germany

Canada Joins The British Empire, Declares War On Germany
The Canadian government joins the britisch empire. Canada has been associated with Britain since the mid 1700’s until the 1840’s when upper and lower Canada’s parts were joined to create one province of Canada. They joined Britain again for the war because Britain's ultimatum to Germany to withdraw its army from belgium expired in August Canada had to help Britain fight their enemies in the war.
  • Canada Enters War/Their First Battle

    Canada Enters War/Their First Battle
Canadians are sent off to fight the germans from 1915 to 1918. They pledged allegiance with the britain almost unanimously. The britisch accepted immediately and over 300,00 men/half of Canada’s men were sent off to fight for their country. Quickly, Canada became known as one of the hardest working and toughest countries and helped Great Britain defeat Germany in WW1.
  • Armistice

    Armistice
Armistice is known as the end of WW1. The war ended at 11 am on November 18th. More than 9 million soldiers and 20 million civilians died during the battle. After the war the Canadian government lead by Robert Borden began to try and bring the country back to where it once was because this war had a torrid affect on the people and land of Canada.
  • Aftermath Of WW1

    Aftermath Of WW1
After the war people became furious with the
government about security and if they were still
safe in Canada. This caused lots of changes in
the government at a rapid pace. This also
caused new jobs to open in the government for
more input and help. This also caused a lot of
grief throughout the country because of the lives
lost in battle, this brought the country closer
together and they raised money for those
    families struggling post war.

Arthur Meighen Is Elected as Prime Minister
Arthur Meighen was Canada’s 9th different prime minister. he only served as the leader of Canada from 1920-1921. He became prime minister against what many of his fellow ministers said, who believed he was unsuited for the job and was handicapped by his contentious policies. His main accomplishment came when he successfully argued against the Britsch government's plan to renew the Anglo-Japenease alliance.
  • William Lyon Mackenzie Becomes Prime Minister

William Lyon Mackenzie Becomes Prime Minister
William Lyon Mackenzie King was prime minister of Canada in two stints but for my timeline he was involved in 1921-1926+. In his first stint he was most known for his role in canadian autonomy with the united kingdom and contributed to the definition of Dominion status at the 1926 Imperial Conference.
  • Women Begin to Stand Up

    Women Begin to Stand Up
Women were declared “persons” in 1929. This was due to the persistence of 5 brave females from Alberta. This obviously was a huge step forward in long path of equal pay and equal rights for women. This battle started in 1916 when lawyers challenged a woman because she was not considered a person under canadian law. In 1927 the women of Canada rallied together to make sure this right is fixed and won the case in 1928.
