At first Hindenburg did not want to make Hitler chancellor because of how intimdating he was. Hitler grew to be popular which gave him a boost and hindenburg did not like it. After a couple of negotiations with the supporters of hitler Hindenburg was convinced to make him chancellor. Significance: Hitler got rid of politics to make a powerful unified one party state and this was a turning point for germany also the world. first concentration camp built
Dachau was the first concentration camp to be built and it was a prototype. At first it was a prison basically for political prisoners but later was used as a "school of violence" where many europeans were killed especially jews. This camp was used as a blueprint for all the other camps that were made for evilish purposes. Significance: the first camp is where all the other camps came from along with all the murder and casulties. -

Germany withdrew from the league of nations due to the disarmament was a failure and hitler needed to rearm germany. Since he couldn't get them to agree he left with japan to restregthen germany. Also hitler knew franced wouldnt come to terms so he knew this could not work. Significance: germany leaving lets them restrengthen their military to take over france. Also the army would be to powerful now since they left the league of nations. -
Americans rally for pro nazi in NY
Several thousand americans rally in queens New York for pro Nazi where they supported the hatred of jews and loved hitler. They wanted america to be like Nazi Germany to get rid of politics in America. Significance: this was important because America could have been just like Nazi Germany if more people were to participate in this rally. It's scary to think americans supported Hitler and the hatred towards Jews. -

Japan Invades China
Japan invaded China due to Imperialism and economic reasons. Japan needed more resources to be an industrial and miltiary power. Also they wanted to prove how strong they were and to get control of east asia. Although they had captured amny chinese ports the chinese held them at a stalemate and japan stopped attacking china and went for Pearl Harbor in America. Significance: This started World war II when Japan attacked America since they could't overtake china.
