    The League of Nations was an international organization that had a goal to maintain world peace, and was the first of its kind. It acted to prevent war among European nations by increasing security between nations, and settling international disputes. The league of Nations is historically significant because it allowed the interwar years to be much more peaceful, and a time of recovery and economic restoration for the countries burdened by WW1.

    Vladimir Lenin Dies
    Vladimir Lenin, the mastermind behind the Bolshevik Revolution and the first leader of the Soviet Union, died at age 54 of a brain hemorrhage on Jan. 21, 1924. His death is significant because he influenced many countries and their leaders through his actions of industrialization and land distribution to help the declining USSR. His significance was so influential that his body was embalmed and placed in a mausoleum near Moscow.

These Pacts, once broken, were one of the key components in shaping WW2 and the relationships between European countries during the war.

    Hitler is Appointed Chancellor of Germany
    President Paul von Hindenburg named Adolf Hitler the chancellor of Germany on Jan. 30th 1933. Hitler gathered up the people using their frustration for the current economic conditions, and the harsh settlements of WW1. His ability to speak and gather support for his new Nazi party, led to an uprising that developed into WW2, and marked a crucial turning point for both Germany, and the rest of the world.

    Operation Hummingbird, or The Night of the Long Knives was a purge that took place in Nazi Germany from June 30 to July 2, 1934. It was a series of political executions to show the hold that Hitler had on power in Germany, and included the killing of many longtime supporters of Hitler. This significant event marked a new era for German rule, and was one of the early examples of violence used against anyone who threatened Hitler's rule.

    The Munich Pact was signed as an agreement between France, Britain, and Germany to avert war with each other while Germany attempted its conquest over Czechoslovakia. While the agreement averted the outbreak of war, it gave Czechoslovakia away to German defeat. This pact was eventually broken when Britain declared war on Germany, and was one of the immediate causes of WW2
