Gas chambers were the way to go and the way they worked was they were camouflaged as shower rooms. In the 2 years mor than 5 million people, mostly Jews, were gased and killed.

Hitler commits suicide on April 30. On May 7, Germany surrenders.

Liberating troops found out what went on in camps. 6 million Jews, two thirds of the Jewish population, were all killed. Because of this the officers were put to a trial and most of them were sentenced the death penalty.
