  • Hitler Appointed Chancellor of Germany

    Hidenburg appoints Hitler chancellor of Germany.
    This even represents change because the induction of Hitler into a high political power in Germany resulted in the complete change of Germany into the Nazi Socialist Party, also bringing changes to other countries--beginning step to the start of WWII. This relates to theme 3 because the implement of Hitler into power resulted in the expansion of Germany as a country.
  • Nuremberg Laws

    The first Nuremberg Laws were enacted in Germany-- laws that put limits on Jewish people and their freedom. This event represents change becuase the anti-semitism forming in Europe was a change brought in by the introduction of Hitler as chancellor. This theme relates to theme 3 because the enactment of the Nuremberg Laws led to conflict with the Germany and it's surrouding countries. Germans because the Jewish genocide, causing conflict between outlying countries.
  • Japan Invades China

    Japan begins its invasion of China following the Marco Polo Bridge incedent on July 7. This event represernts continuity becausee many countries often invade their neighbor contries hoping for more power and territorial expasnion, such as North and South Korea. This even relates to theme 3 because it discusses expasion, which is what China was trying to accomplish by invading Japan.
  • Nazi Germany Invades Poland

    The army of Germany invades Poland, causing the official start of WWII. THis event represents continuity becuase this is the seocnd time in history that a world war has been fought--between the same countries for m=similar reasons. This relates to theme 3 because it discusses state building, expansion and conflict, all aspets of WWII and the start of it.
  • Kristallnacht

    Nazi's violently attack Jews and destroy their property. This event represnts change becuase it is the start of the beginning of the extreme anti-semitism acts Hitler enacts towards the Jews during the 1940's. This event relates to theme 3 because is discusses the conflict going on between Germans and JEws durign the 1940's and the violence and hatred the Jews had to endure.
  • Italy Declares War

    Italy declares war against both Britain and France. This event represents continuity because Italy was also involved in WWI with the German-Ausrain forces. This event relates to themne 3 because it discuesses te ocnflicts going on between countries, like Italy and France/Britain, during WWII.
  • Germany Attacks Soviet Union

    Germany breaks their non-aggression act with Russia and invades/attacks them. This event represents change because they had a pact not to fight with Russia, but changed it by invading the country and attempting to take control. THhis eent represents theme 3 becuse it discusess the conflict involved when trying to expand and conquer other countries, like Germany with Russia.
  • Japanese Attack on Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Habor falls under attack from naval and air foreces from the empire of Japan. THis event represents change because it officially involved the U.S in the war, and led to the detonation of the two U.S atomic bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This even relates to Theme 3 becuase it discusses the conflicts between the U.s and Japan that arose during WWII, and its consequences.
  • Italy Declares War on U.S and Germany

    Italy and Germany declare war on the U.S shortly after the United States decares war on Japan. This even represernts continuity because it was a sequence of wars starting one after the other, all inhopes to defend each others' allies--similar to WWI. This even relates to theme 3 becuase it discusses the desire of countries with large amounts of power to expand, and the conflicts that arose from their strives for conquest.
  • D-Day

    American naval forces storm the beaches of Normandy to remove all German fortifications. This even represents change because it brought a n end to WWII, and eventually led to a world change of peace betweeen previously fightinging countries, like the U.S and Japan and Germany. This event relates to theme 3 because it relates to the conflicts related to WWII and the resolutions finally resvolved from it.
