    Stock Market Crash/ Great Depression Begins
    On October 29, 1929, the stock market crashed, which was the event that led to the Great Depression that lasted 10 years. During this entire time, Franklin D. Roosevelt remained President and led the U.S. to survive this time, which ended in 1939. This event was important because the stock market crash let off thousands of people from their jobs, and this was the leading cause of the Great Depression.
  • Fascist Government set up in Italy

    Fascist Government set up in Italy
    From November 7-10, 1931, Italy became a fascist government, this act was put in motion by Mussolini, who was a leader at the time. What was previously known as the Fascist Revolutionary Party was then named the Third Fascist Congress. Essentially changing the entire nation to a Fascist government. This was important because they were only focused on expanding their own country, just making the war worse than it already was at the time.

    Hitler is Appointed Chancellor
    On January 30, 1933, Hitler was appointed the chancellor of Germany and the Nazi party by President Paul Von Hindenburg. They decided this over many parliamentary elections and many discussions and debates within the leaders of the nation. This event was important because Hitler's "rise" was said to be over, and now he had complete power to grow his army and try and end the Jewish race.

    Italy Invades Ethiopia
    On October 3, 1935, Italy invaded Ethiopia because of a border incident the December before this, giving Mussolini a valid excuse to invade the country. Before this, arbitraries were offering and trying to settle this dispute, but Hitler refused and invaded Ethiopia anyways. This event is important because of the fact that Italy had already set up a fascist government and they were so focused on expanding their land, they felt they had to invade and take over Ethiopia to do it.

    FDR Signs Neutrality Bill to Protect U.S.
    In January of 1937, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signs the bill of neutrality in order to protect US citizens from the raging war with the Nazis during the great depression. This bill outlawed their arms trade with Spain. This event is important because while the war was still going on, the Great Depression was too, and the US wouldn't be able to handle it if war came to their nation, FDR signing this might have been the best thing that could've happened to them at the time.

    Germany invades Czechoslovakia
    On March 15, 1938, Hitler made the irrational decision to invade the occupied and thriving country of Czechoslovakia. This included invading occupied provinces of Bohemia and Moravia, which left many dead. This event was important because Czechoslovakia was one of the most peaceful places at the time, and Hitler's doing this... made everything so much worse to where it had consequences for the unity of the communist bloc, although Hitler hadn't intended this.

    On September 17, 1939, Germany and the Nazi party invaded Poland, the Germans used heavy shelling and bombing in order to get Poland to surrender. This was named as the Soviet Union invasion. This event was important because it was what sparked WWII. Hitler was trying to gain wanted territory with force, and he ended up starting a whole war because of his arrogance.

    On June 22, 1941, Germany invaded Russia. This invasion was planned out beforehand, and they called it "Operation Barbarossa." This operation lasted for six months in Russia while the Germans took over and killed anyone who stood in their way. (June 22-December 5, 1941)
  • Tehran Conference

    From November 28- December 1, 1945, the Tehran Conference took place. This event was important because it caused some tension between the powers, especially Britain. The man point of this was to get all of the main Leaders: Stalin, FDR, and Churchill into the same room so that they could discuss matters within close quarters. It failed. They discussed, debated, and argued, and in the end, it was unsuccessful because none of them could agree and none of them would make a compromise.
  • Deaths of Leaders

    Deaths of Leaders
    On April 12, 1945, FDR passed away, 18 days later on April 30, Hitler committed suicide... Coincidentally enough, Mussolini was killed on April 28 of that same year as well. These events were so important because they basically ended the war... with no leader, Germany surrendered since they had no idea what to do now that Hitler was gone. America lost one of the best and most trusted leaders of their country, and Mussolini was killed because of his opinions and irrational decisions on Fascism.

    On November 20, 1945, the Nuremberg War trials began. This event was important because it was bringing Nazi war criminals t justice. It was called the Nuremberg War Trials because it was a series of 13 trials held in Nuremberg, Germany.
