    Germany wanted to prevent Allied occupation of Norway and Denmark. They invaded first, and got control over both countries quickly. Norway also had many natural resources thaat were essential for Germany's war effort.

    During the battle of France, many Allied troops are surrounded and stuck in the French city of Dunkirk. Hitler Controversially ordered a halt, which gave over 350,000 allied troops time to evacuate.

    France signs an armistice with Nazi Germany, which agrees to Nazi control of France.

    Battle of Britain

    At this point of the war, the Nazi War Machine looked unstoppable. Hitler decided to have bombing raids on Great Britain to force them into an armistice. The Brits defeated the germans, and this was viewed as the turning point of the war.
  • Operation Barbarossa

    Nazi Germany opens up the eastern front and invades the Soviet Union, despite a pact of non-agression. Nazi Wermacht push all the way to Moscow, until a Soviet counter-attack turns them away. Over 3 million Soviet POWs are taken;many of whom never return.

    The Imperial Japanese Airforce stages an attack on the US Naval Base in Hawaii. Crippled the Amican Navy, but it was repaired. This led to America's enterance into the war
