    Mussolini led a fascist movement that took over Italy in 1922. He came to power quickly because the Italian people were suffering from the government not making them happy. He led a march that forced police to side with him, putting him in power.

    Hitler comes to power
    Hitler became the leader of the Nazi party in a few short years of joining it. He tried to lead a rebellious march to take over the Wiemar Republic. He ended up getting thrown into jail, then being let out for good behavior in nine months. The Wiemar Republic then tried to control him with a fake position of power, but he eventually took over in 1933.

    Benito Mussolini adopted Adolf Hitler's expansion plans, so he desired more land. He led a invasion against the French territory of Ethiopia. Once Italy took over Ethiopia, they stopped fighting until they invaded Southern France.

    Hitler invades Poland
    Hitler invaded Poland because they wanted to unite the German people. They used the tactic "Blitzkrieg" which means lighting war, to quickly defeat the Polish. They made a pact with the Soviets, which led them to invade Poland without a two front war.

    The Bombing of Great Britain
    Germany constantly bombed Great Britain for 11 months to demoralize them to get them to surrender. The bombing crushed the British's hopes, but they did not surrender. After the 11 months, Germany had used so many bombs that they had depleted their resources. This was Germany's first major setback.

    Germany invaded France through Belgium. Germany wanted to take France, because it would lead them to Great Britain. Germany could not directly invade France, so they led a sneak attack that caught France off guard.

    Germany invaded the Soviet Union after the Battle of Britain failed. The Germans thought they could handle it, since they have already taken most of Europe. They led an attack, that would go all the way to Moscow.

    Japan invaded Pear Harbor mainly resulting from the United States refusing to trade oil with Japan. Japan also wanted to hurt the pacific fleet, and become an empire. Japan was focused greatly on expansion and becoming a world power during WWII

    The Axis Powers declared war on the U.S. after the U.S. declared war on Japan. A similar instance happened in WWI, where all the allies of Austria and all the allies of Serbia declared war on each other.

    The U.S. and Britain land on the Beaches of Algeria and Morocco
    The U.S. and Britain land on the Beaches of Algeria and Morocco, pushing back the Germans and Italians. The failure of defense caused the Allies to push through the western border of Tunisia, causing the Germans to occupy Southern France on November 11.

    U.S. and Britain Storm the Beaches of Normandy (D-Day)
    The U.S. storm the beaches of Normandy, which was a major setback for the Germans. The troops managed to get past the giant concrete wall, and went for Paris. The battle was insane, with large amounts of casualties, and hundreds of men running up the beach using metal barricades as protection from bullets.

    Germany surrendered to the Allies after Hitler committed suicide. The Germans were loosing badly, and they could not sustain war efforts. They were also fighting a two front war.

    U.S. Nukes Hiroshima and Nagasaki
    The U.S. nuked Hiroshima and Nagasaki, officially ending the war with Japan. This was the only time in history a nuke has ever been used on a city, and it resulted in millions of deaths. The effect it had on the civilians was tremendously horrible, as they were burning and they could not do anything about it, because of the sheer mass of people, and the little help the army could provide.
