This was one part of the two-front war the US had to fight. The European Theater was the fight at which we were at war with Germany, Italy, and France.

Since America was practicing neutrality, Roosevelt decided to lend war supplies to other countries rather than selling it to them. He also enforced the Cash and Carry Provision which allowed sales to the Allies in cash but they would have to transport the supplies on their own ships

Between January and June of 1941, A Randolph and others threatened to go on a march on Washignton to protest the government, stating that empoyment was discriminating against blacks. As a result, Roosevelt created the Fair Emploment Practices Committee on June 25th so that the march would be called off

Japan was angry at the US for placing an embargo on them. The US placed it because they wanted Japan to stop the agression it was causing.

The Pacific Theater was the other front of the war that we fought with Japan. It began when Japan decided to attack Pearl Harbor.

Since the US was at war with the Axis powers (which included Italy, Germany, and Japan), Americans feared that people of that nationality were spies and were a threat to America. Even president Roosevelt was convinced of this and sent these people to isolated camps.

Roosevelt was afraid that Germany was building a nuclear weapon. So, he gathered a group of scientits to secretly create one before Germany did.

The US landed troops onto the beaches of Normany, invading northern France

Victory Garden were part of AMeric'as mobiliztion. They were created to help soldiers get food. If American's grew their own food, they wouldn't have to buy any and that extra food could go to soldiers at war.

This created the first VE-Day celebrating the victory in Europe

After the US dropped its atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan finally surrendered. When they signed an official surrenerding document, WWII finally ended.

After the end of the war soldiers no longer needed food at the front, so the government ended rationing.
