    Vladimir Lenin was the founder of Bolshevism. He was exiled to Siberia in 1897 and was committed to class struggle and revolution. He befriended Leon Trotsky when he moved to London in 1902. In 1917 he gave amnesty to all prisoners. In 1918, the Bolsheviks party was renamed the communist party.

    He was the fascist leader of Italy that preached extreme Nationalism. He eliminated all other political parties and gained power with the disappointment of the Treaty of Versailles. He promised to make Italy great by building the military and promising jobs to the majority of people that were unemployed.

    Joseph Stalin was the leader of the Soviet Union. He ordered his people to produce more goods in order to strengthen the country in preparation for war. All the farmers were forced to give up their land and join collective farms. Millions of farmers were either killed or sent to labor camps if they resisted. He killed many of his people because he lived in fear that people will get too much power and support and over-rule him.

    Neville Chamberlain was the prime minister of Britain. He is known for signing the Munich Pact in 1938. The appeasement was because he did not want to go to war with Germany. Instead of putting up boundaries, he gave Hitler small parts of Czechoslovakia. Eventually, he handed his position to Winston Churchill.

    On September 3, 1939, Britain declared war on Germany. Hitler started a plan called "Invasion Sea Lion" so they can invade Britain. In July 1940, Germany invade Britain with nearly 2x the aircraft as Britain. Everyday between July and Oct of 1940, the RAF and Luftwaffe clashed over Britain. On Sept 17, Operatiion Sea Lion was called off and Britain won their first victory in WWII. Unlike Chamberlain, Churchill believed that Germany needed to be fought and beat.

    The Japanese attacked Oahu, Hawaii while everyone slept. Japanese were mad that the US stopped supplying them with resources. The men thought it was a drill until it was announced that it was a real attack. Dory Miller was announced a hero for shooting down 4 Japanese planes.

    The US decided to go into war when Pearl Harbor was attacked by the Japanese. They were also allied with Great Britain, France, and the Soviet Union to attack Hitler and keep them from taking more land and killing more people.
