German u-boats sink the British passenger liner traveling from New York to Britain because they suspected it was smuggling ammo (they were eventually proven right). This caused the US to want to enter WWI. -

Germany says they wont attack passenger ships without warning and making efforts to sace all of the civilians on the ships. -
