  • The Anschluss

    The Anschluss
    The Anschluss was basically the coalition of Germans in Austria. The purpose of this was because Hitler wanted all German speaking people united in one place. He wanted to take back everything that was taken from them during WWI. During the Anscluss, Hitler threatened to invade Austria if they didnt give Nazi members important positions. Due to his fear of Hitler the Austrian Chancelor agreed to do so.
  • The Munich Conference

    The Munich Conference
    The Munich conference had to do with Hitler's next target, a city in Czechoslovakia called Sudetenland. The reason he chose this city as a target was because the majority of the city spoke german. The czech's refused and in case Hitler tried to invade they had France and Britain supporting them. To try to keep their relationship with Hitler okay the prime minister of Britain offered him Sudetenland if he promised he wouldnt invade the rest of the country. Which he ended up doing later on anyways
  • The Nazi-Soviet Pact

    The Nazi-Soviet Pact
    The Nazi- Soviet Pact was an agreement signed between Germany and USSR(soviet union basically) stating that USSR would stay out of the war if Germany went to war with Britain and France, and in exchange they gave Germany Poland.
  • Danzig and Polish Corridor

    Danzig and Polish Corridor
    After Hitler took Sudetenland, he wanted Danzig which was a part of Germany that was separated by poland after WWI. He wanted to build a highway and a railroad across Poland connecting Germany, Poland, Danzig, and East Prussia. Britain and France realized they failed trying to appease Hitler so instead they tried to push Poland to refuse his demands.
  • The War begins WWII

    The War begins WWII
    Germany and the Soviet Union invaded Poland. A few days later Britain and France declared War on Germany. Germany used Blitzkrieg on Poland. Blitzkrieg was basically military tactics that they used to disorganize and destroy enemy forces by using mobile forces and a great concentration of firepower.
