This is where Lord Of the Flies ties into the timeline. Because of German invasions, children were sent away to be safe from the bombings. However, planes were shot down, killing many innocent people. “When we was coming down I looked through one of them windows. I saw the other part of the plane. There were flames coming out of it.” (Golding, 2). -

Millions die in the world's worst crime against humanity. -

This is the invasion of the Soviet Union. Germany goes back on its word, and invades the Soviets. -

Japan bomb the naval base in Pearl Harbor, bringing America into World War 2. -

Allies rush to Normundy to save Europe from the Nazis. -
