    France surrenders its capital city to Germany after a battle of slightly more than a month, beginning its occupation.

    Close to the end of WWII, and with nowhere left to run and few other options, Adolf Hitler commits suicide.

    With no leader and a crippled nation, Germany surrenders unconditionally to the Allies.

    The United States had been fighting to take control over Okinawa and now has gained its control after several days of fighting. The new foothold of Japan gained a good way to invade the mainland and defeat Japan.
