The Annexation of Sudetenland was where the Germans went against the Czechoslovak rule. Sudetenland was bordered by Germany, so it was heavily populated by people of German origin. Hitler wanted to unite the Germans, so he tried to annex it. This ended on March 16th,1939.

The battle of Guadalcanal was one of the turning points in WW2. It was a series of encounters with the Japanese in the Pacific Theatre. The Allies did this in order to stop supply routes between Japan and their allies. The battle ended on February 9th, 1943.

Island hopping began at the battle of Guadalcanal. Island hopping was the act of jumping from one heavily armed island to another to seize less defended areas. This could support the Allies' next advancement. Island hopping was used by the Allies throughout WW2.

The Attack on Pearl Harbor was "a day that will live in infamy"- President Roosevelt. Pearl Harbor was an American naval base in Hawaii. The morning of December 7th, hundreds of Japanese planes bombed the base to weaken the American fleet. Many Americans were killed and injured.

Before the war, the Philippines was under American rule. The Philippines was almost completely surrounded. The Philippines was bombed almost immediately after Pearl Harbor. An American-Filipino army fought against the Japanese and lost.

The battle of Midway began when four Japanese aircraft attacked the US naval base in Midway. The US troops forced the Japanese to abandon the battle and retreat. This win for the US stopped the advancement of the Japanese in the Pacific. The battle ended on June 7th, 1942.

The Fall of Berlin was one of the last offensives in the Pacific Theatre. Soviet fronts attacked Berlin and Berlin was forced to surrender. This led to the end of WW2 in Europe and the end of Nazi Germany. The Fall of Berlin ended May 2nd, 1945.

When Hitler realized that the Nazis were defeated, he committed suicide. He retreated to his underground bunker when Germany was under siege by the Soviet Union. He swallowed a cyanide capsule and shot himself. Soon after, the Germans surrendered to the Allies.

The world's first atomic bomb was detonated 200 miles from Los Alamos. The lab was created in 1943 and their goal was to create an atomic bomb. The Lab was successful in creating the first atomic bomb and they would be used against Japan shortly after.

The Manhattan Project made the Hiroshima Bombing possible. During WW2, Japan refused to surrender to the Allies, even after they defeated Germany. The Allies could either invade Japan or use an atomic bomb. The US decided on the bomb because there would be fewer casualties. The Japanese still refused to surrender, so the US also had to bomb Nagasaki.
