    It started in 1914 when Europe's sixs major countries had split up into two alliances. Britain, France and Russia had formed the Triple Entente. Germany, Austria, Hungary and Italy had joined the Triple Alliance. Despite the tension with Austria and Hungary they still formed the Triple Alliance together.

    ArchDuke Franz Ferdinandi of Austria and his wife Sophie were shot dead on june 28, 1914. Franz Ferdinand and his wife were assassinated by Bosnian serbia. They were killed when visiting Sarajevo. Franz Ferdinand went to go visit Sarajevo because he needed to go inspect the imperial armed forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina. After the death of Franz Ferdinandi it would lead up to a chain of events that would make an outbreak that led to WW1.

The second Battle of ypres was happening during WW1. The introduction of poison gas was invented during the second battle of ypres. After Germany had gas attacks at ypres the French and the British had begun developing their own chemical gas mask and weapons.

    The Armistice is on November 11. It is a formal agreement of warning parties to stop fighting. It meant that ceasefire that ended hostilities between the Allies and Germany.
