    This was a plan for an German invasion of france and belgium to be in a one front war against france the third republic. This plan caused the battle of verdun because the battle of verdun was an effect of the war. This also caused the First Battle of Marne because the Schlieffen plan was Germany plan for the Battle of Marne.
  • Assassination of Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand

    Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand and his wife were shot and killed by a Serbian Nationalist in Sarejevo. This was known to be the event which started WW1.
