    The Alliance
    Other than the alliance between the Germans and Austria, there was another alliance between the French and Russia. Later on in the war The United States joined the Alliance.

    The Asassination
    Archduke Francis Ferdinand soon to be King of Austria, was assasinated by Serbians. The Serbians thought land belonged to them. Killing their soon to be king, Austrians were mad and made allies with Germany and declared war on the Serbians.

    World War 1 was the biggest war of its time that involved all countries, which made the death rate go up resulting in more than 17 million deaths.

    After Franz Ferdinand was assasinated, Wilhelm Kaiser, the German leader, was confident that Germany would have an alliance with Austria. The deciding factor in WW1 was whether or not they wanted to go to war with Serbia.

    Germany sunk the British ship, the Lustiana, killing 1,201 women, men and children, including 128 Americans.

    The Zimmermann Telegram is a telegram from the foreign German secretary to the German Ambassador in Mexico. They proposed that Mexico become a German allie against The United States, but was intercepted by the British.

    The British interfeared with the Zimmerman Telegram and stated that if the United States joins in on the war and makes allies, Mexico will proceed with declaring war on The United States

    After the war died down, America was on top economically. Allies from UK, Itally, Japan, Canada, Belgium, and Austria won the war.

    The Treaty of Versailles was a peace treaty for everyone who was involved in the war. The treaty stated that the Germans were to blame for the war and all the damages.

    Due to the stock market crash, millions had lost their jobs. Most of the overseas trading stopped and there was no money to be made. Due to the depression of the economy, many people also became depressed and unmotivated. Thus the Great Depression. began.
