    Assasination of Archduke Ferdinand
    Serbian rebels assassinate Archduke Franz Ferdinand. He was killed like a Serbian in a Nationalist Terrorist group that was protesting the Austrian Rule over Bosnia. The only reason the Terrorist could get to the Archduke is because the driver took a wrong turn. It’s funny; one of the deadliest conflicts in human history could have been avoided had the driver known where he was going.

    Austria Hungary Declares War On Serbia

    A month after the assassination of the Archduke the Austrians declared war on Serbia. People debate why it took a month for them to declare war. It is generally agreed that the Austrians had to check with the Germans that they would fend off the Russians if they decided to help Serbia. However, Russia and Germany are far from the only allies that got Involved. Through a bunch of overlapping peace treaties and protective agreements, all of the world’s major powers were brought into the conflict.

    First Battle of The Marine

    The Germans had invaded Northern France by going through a Neutral Belgium. They were met with British forces who had just landed in Northern France and had marched into Belgium. The British began to a desperate retreat toward Allied troops in France. this landed the Germans within 30 miles of France’s capital, Prais. British and French forces bonded together to clash the massive German assault. This first battle would lock them in Trenches that would not move for years.

    Battle of the Somme

    Battle of the Some. The Somme is a river in France. It was an attempt from the Allies to push the Germans eastward after being locked in muddy trenches for a year and a half. The first day of the battle was one of the bloodiest days in British war history. With an estimated 56,750 casualties of which approximately 19,000 died. This battle was also one of the first in which tanks were implemented into battle.

    The Russian Revolution

    Russia Revolution the Bolsheviks overthrow the standing government that was led by the Romanovs in a violent revolution. A civil war soon broke out between a red and a white army. The red army led by Vladamir Lenin soon defeated the white army which led to the end of the revolution in 1923. The new Russian government is a Communist Regime that will stand for 70 years.

    Permission to wear Service Chevrons. There's really not much to say about this one Mr. Schiltz. Do you want me to go into detail about the joy that filled him when he got this permission? Maybe he was excited about his ranking up in the military. Who knows?

    A letter congratulating them (Forbes and his fellow soldiers) on the end of the war. Forbes then writes a letter to his father whom he has stayed in touch with. He mentioned how excited he is for the war to be over. This was probably a widespread feeling of joy and pleasure.

    Orders to report to Best, France to receive transport to the United States. I'm sure he is FILLED with joy. Absolutely happy to go to Best, France. He gets to leave this now barren wasteland of a continent and return home. He'll get to see his father who he's had constnat contact with for the year and a half he's been in service.

    Treaty of Versailles. The treaty that succeeded in the war witch harshly punished the opposing forces. They wrote up with 14 terms. The allies gave careful consideration to how they could limit german recovery after the war They did this as a means of preventing future war. Of course, as we know they were unsuccessful.

    Forbe's Honorable Discharge

    Forbes Allan is honorably discharged from the United States Military. He's been home for a while at this point so he is probably in the safety of his friends and family and tells them about it. He is probably happy to be free from the Army's grasps and he can now live life as he pleases.

    Forbes Allen Hears From Someone Special

    Letter from Juliette, a woman he met while overseas in France. He cared enough for Juliette to give her his address and everything. This means that they had a special connection. They were potentially lovers. This probably made Forbes Allen a very happy man.
