A few days later, after the triple-battle-chain, on September 4, 1914, the German army, once again, attacked Belgium and Northern France.

When France expected an attack from Germany, France planned to bring Germany down when the attack occured, by heavily arming Verdun. When the attack did come, Germany invaded Verdun's forts planted around the city. The forts were taken by the Germans, but Verdun itself stayed up. When Britain battled Russia, Germany had no choice but to help its ally, and France retook its forts. Verdun was saved from the German invasion.

Germany passed a law saying that no ship, be it supplies, imports, exports, or warship, could enter or leave Britain.

The British brought their newly produced tanks to Cambrai to take and claim it to prevent Germany from taking it. Cambrai eventually kept its place in Europe from being taking over by either Britain or Germany.

Germany signed an armistice, saying they wanted the war to end. War went on however, for another seven months, and the war did not officially end until June 28, 1919.
