Hitler announces the rebuilding of Germany's army
Hitler announces that he is rebuilding the German army forces for defensive measures strictly. By doing this it goes against the treaty of Versailies, but because it was for "defensive reasons" the countries of Europe did not stop them. All the Nations thought Hitler wanted peace and this was the reason for not intervening in the rebuilding of their army. -
Nazis Take Over Rhineland
According to the Treaty of Versailles, Germany is not allowed to keep soldiers in the area or to fortify the area. Hitler completly ignors the agreement and marches soldiers right on in Rhineland. No French soldiers challenged Hitler and they gave up the land, because they did not want another repeat of World War One. -
Germany Takes Control of Austria
Once Hitler allied with Italy, he went to get Austria to join their vast empire. He gave the people of Austria the "choice" of either joining up with Great Britian, or to join Germany. But if the people did not vote for Germany they were voting for chaos and war, and that they would invade to supposedly "restore order to they chaotic country". So when it came to the vote almost 100% of the population voted to join Germany -
Hitler Enters Czechoslovakia
Hitler demands for the land in Sudetenland which is part of Czechoslovakia. To avoid war and bloodshed, Britian chooses to appease Hitler and give him the land. Hitler promised in return he would not make any more demands that involved other counrties giving up territory. Based on Hitler's erlier deals, he does not stick to what he says. Now that Germany owned Sudetenland, they were right next to the rest of Czechoslovakia and they were left and the rest of the country was just as easy to take. -
Hitler Claims Other Nations are Being Unfair in Complaints About Germany Mistreating the Jews
Hitler pointed out that when offered to receive the Jews they were refused so his reason was why should Germany? Even the United States refused to accept their "settlement". So this gave Hitler the Idea that it was OK to just get rid of them, if they were not wanted and neglected. -

As a result of the invasion of Poland, great Britian and France both felt the need to declare war on Germany. During the invasion and occupation Germany made it clear that Jews and others were deemed "subhuman" which led to their feeling justified in displacing and murdering them. -

Nazis take control of parts of central and southern Poland. In the territory they controlled, the Nazis began deporting millions of Poles and Jews to concentration camps. The Nazis made sure that the Poles knew who was in charge, and those who didnt faced severe punishment. -
France Falls
In April alone, Germany took over Denmark and Norway. But when France fell, Britian was the only remaining Western European coutry not conquered by Hitler. This meant Britian had to fight the war by themselves, which changed the leadership in Britian, making Winston Churchill the Prime Minister. -

German army advances into Russia. Behind the army were four SS units who would follow and murder anyone that the Nazis considered an enemy of the state.These killings and murders were a routine. By the end of 1941, the Nazis had murdered over seven hundred thousand jews and thousands of other enemies. -
United States Declares War On Japan
United States declares war on Japan after a vicious attack on Pearl Harbor. Japan asks for Germanys support and two days later Germany declares war on the United States. By doing this, Germany unintentionally united three very strong and powerful nation together against him.
