  • Manchurian railway incident

    This was an event where Japan suposidly planted explosives bombing a railway loacted in Manchuria. They then blamed the Chinese for the explostion and used it as a cover to eventaully enter China. This is Signifigant beacsue it gave Japan the excsue it was looking for to begain its invasion into China this was the spark. It also is signifigant beacuse of the resources in Manchuria that helped to later supply the Japanese military machine in the war to come.

  • Italian invasion of Ethiopia(Abyssinia)

    This was an event were w well prepared Italian army marched into and attacked an ill armed and trained Ethiopion army they swifrly crushed them and took over. This event was signifigatn beacsue it illustraeted how uselss the elague of nations was. It was also signifigant beacuase it helped to unify Germany an Italy who would later become allies. This is very important as Hitler gained farther support from another facist leader to continue taking territories.
  • Remilitarization of Rhineland

    Hitler orderd his troops to march into the Rhineland as a display of how Gemrany wants its land back and does not care for the treaty of versilles. This was very signifigatn as it shoed to Hitler that the French and other nations are not imposing the rules of the treaty this shwoed Hitler he can contiune and keep taking back the lsot land. It is also imporant as Hitler even stated that if he was meet with resistance he would have wihtdran this was the cahnce to stop Hitler and no one took it.

    Anschluss was the unification of Austria into Germany, and althoguh this swas done by a vote it waas a force unifacation where Hitler bullied his way in; althoguh he did have some support from Austrians. This was signifigant becasue it was the start of Hitler taking back what Germany had lsot this secured his position with his people and showed the nation he will take back German land. It is also signifigant beacause of the way the world just watched, they took no actions to stop Hitler.
  • German annexation of Sudetenland

    On septmeebt 30 the Munich agreemnt was singed by Hitler, Chamberlain and other nations that handed over the Sudetenland to Hitler. This was signifigant beacuse it was the first treaty used to try and appease Hitler. If they had defended the Sudetenland and fought they probally would have stopped Hitler right there. This is also signifigant beacuse it shwoed to Hitler that it seems the allies will let him take what he wants so why wouyld he stop this ifa nything encourgaed Hitlers actions.
  • Nationalist victory in Spanish civil war

    This wasa civil war that broke out in Spain between left wing and right wing policies it was interesting beacsue of the rest of the world involvment in the conflcit. It was signifigant beacsue the conclusion left the world with another faist leader and satte in command which farther helped support the othe like Hitler and Mussalini. It also was signifigant beacuse of the way that the entire world was involved although it was not an open war major nations supported and fought indirectly.
  • Nazi-Soviet Nonaggression pact

    The Nazi-Soviet Nonaggression pact was signed jsut preceeding the war. It was agreed between by Stalin and Hitler. This was signifigant beacsue it gave Hitler the ability to avoid a war on two fronts. Being allied with Russia lets Hitleer focus on crushing the west and then dealing with Russia alone. It is also signifigant as it lead to the spark of the war the invasion of Poland. Hitler and Stalin agreed to split Poland which lead to Britinas involvment and the war actaully starting.

    In 1939 Gerany invaded Poland in a lightning fast raid they took over faster than anyone could have imagined, before this Britan had laid down the ground rules saying if Poland was entered it was war. This was signifiagant becasue it was the start of thwa r Germany invaded Poland and took it over and open war was delcared it wasent the spark it was an explosion. It is also signifigant as we see the first use of the klightning assult blitzcreig which was a favored tactic during the war to come.

    America was one of Japans leading supplers of oil so when America cut them off it was a major hit on Japans war machine. This was signifigant beacuse it furtherd the tension bwtween the U.S. and Japan. This angerd Japan and can be seen as a major reason for the pearl harbour attack. This is also signifigant beacsue it demonstrates the attitude of the world towards open war. After ww1 they are doing eevrything to avoid another war and the oil embargo can be seen as a peaceful warning from the U.S
  • Pearl Harbour

    Pearl Harbour was a suprise attack on America in which the Japanese attcked a U.S. port killing and wounding many, it was a premtive strike from Japan hoeping to weaken the U.S. fleet. This was signifigant ebacuse it got America into open conflcit and into the war. It was also signifigant as it was not a delcartaion of war but instead a sneak attack without warning to kill and sink as many ships as posible comapred to fighting battles in an open war this was an underhanded attack.
