    Stoßtruppen
    The Stoßtruppen was a military unit developed in The Great War in service of the second Reich, or German Empire. It consisted primarily of enlisted infantry and NCOs of the German Army. It was comprised of elite trench raiders that had specialized training in crossing no man's land and striking weak points to spearhead attacks during trench warfare. The Stoßtruppen were a force of nature, literally named Shock troopers. The Third Reich would later adopt their strategy as a battle doctrine.

    Vicar Adolf Hitler's rise to power in Deutschland
    Adolf Hitler rose after The Great War as the leader of the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, or the Nazi party. This initially was a party meant to reform and bring Germany back to power. Using the unfair agreements and blame the world put on Germany in the treaty of Versailles Hitler convinced the German People that the world was against them and they loved him for bringing them back to power. Hitler took advantage of the world's depression to do so without being impeded.

    Benito a man who was a similar person to Joseph, in that he was afraid of losing power, took over as the head of Italy. During this time Italy was a totalitarian Gov't in which there was no free speech and everything had to be Mussolini's way, much like the USSR

    Joseph Stalin's Soviet Union
    A driving member of the Bolshevik revolution in Russia in 1917. Once one of his colleagues, Vladimir Lenin, died in 1924 Joseph Stalin was able to take power. Stalin's Russia was meant to be a shining beacon of Socialism, however Stalin's distrust and hunger for power ruined that. Soviet officials and military officers were killed left and right during an event called The Great Purge. In total, Stalin had about 20 million of his own people killed because he was afraid of losing power.

    In English known as "My Struggle," Mein Kampf was a book written by Great War Hero Adolf Hitler, where he described his struggles with the world and the people against Germany. This book was used massively as propaganda in Germany where just about everyone had read it. It described Hitler's ideology and his future plans for Germany.

    During this time, Imperial Japan was on the rise as well, a super power in the pacific even compared to America, Japan was taking advantage of it's primitive neighbours. Manchuria, a location on the eastern seaboard of China, was quickly under Japanese control. The League of Nations did nothing despite saying that acts of imperialism such as this was not allowed.

    Literally "The Third Empire," the third Reich is the third, most powerful empire to rise during it's time. Following the German Empire and prior to that the Holy Roman Empire. The Third Reich run by Adolf Hitler would prove to be even more powerful (Relative to time period) than either of it's predecessors

    The Third Reich became a military superpower in short time due to massive production increases in the 1920s under Hitler's rule. They would build some of the most advanced and effective tanks of their time, improve upon machinegun designs inventing the first Assault Rifle(SturmGewehr-44), they would develop rockets capable of entering space (V2 rockets) however they would not discover that this was possible. It would also have one of the largest militaries ever seen, dwarfed only by the Soviets

    The main aim of the invasion of Abyssinia by Italy was to restore Italian National pride after the defeat at the Battle of Adowa, it was also to help Hitler reclaim all territories considered German.
  • Hitler Retakes the Rhineland

    Hitler Retakes the Rhineland
    Germany invades the Rhineland, an area between Germany and Belgium, in 1936 in a plan to retake it. This is significant because it is the first signs that the Treaty of Versailles has been violated and the military power in Europe was now in the hands of Germany as opposed to France.

    Hitler did not stop at the Rhineland, he wanted more, he proceeded to annex Austria as a part of Germany after threatening invasion. From here he would proceed to invade several other countries including poland in the Nazi-Soviet Pact, which would be the final straw before WW2.

  • Rome-Berlin Axis

    The initial members of the Axis coalition, Germany and Italy, joined forces and agreed to work together in 1936. This would be Finalized in 1939 by the Pact of Steel which would later include Japan
