    German Blitzkrieg
    German forces attack Poland on land and in the air. This was done because Hitler wanted to regain lost territory and rule Poland. They used what became the "Blitzkrieg" strategy. What this did was destroy the enemies air forces and communication lines then rush in with tanks, artillery, and troops.

    Germany captures Paris
    Paris's people woke up this day to the sound of a German voice on loudspeakers. That day German troops entered Paris and occupied it. Paris had America for aid but Roosevelt froze the Americans from being involved.

    Battle of Britain Began
    Germany bombed London and this battle began. Germany and Britain fought in the skies over the United Kingdom. The Royal Air Force overpowered Germany which gave them the victory. This was good for them because it prevented Germany from starting a ground invasion.

    U.S. gives war supplies to Britain
    Lend-Lease Act is passed. The U.S. gives war supplies to Britain in exchange for military bases in Bermuda and the Caribbean. It brought the U.S. closer to entering the World War.

  • Japan bombs Pearl Harbor

    Japan bombs Pearl Harbor
    In the morning on December 7, 1941 Japanese planes fly over the Navel Base in Pearl Harbor. The attack lasts two hours. It destroys navel vessels and battleships. Around 2,000 sailors and soldiers die in the event and around 1,00 are wounded.

    U.S. declares war on Japan & Germany
    A 10 minute speech is given by Theodore Roosevelt. He then requests a declaration of war against Japan. On December 10th Germany declares war on the U.S. involving the U.S. in the war.
