    Versailles Treaty
    They treaty was made by the main powers at the time Britain, France, and the United States. They forced Germany to agree and made them give up many rights. They had t limit lots of military resources. Including limiting troop count to 100,000 and their naval forces. they also had to give up the Air force. Germany had to give up important land. The Goal of the treaty was to limit Germany and make it hard for them to start another war.
  • League of Nations

    League of Nations
    The United States want to create some sort of world wide security organization. They recruit other nations to the idea . The Big countries France, Italy, and England. When the League of Nations was created the United States actual did not join because the still wanted to not really be involved with the war even though they wanted to start and organization. Russia, Germany were not invited to the group.

    In the Fall of 1920 the communist movement through out the nations in Europe started to rise. Due to the Comintern, which was founded in March of 1919. They assimilated to the Bolshevik party model. Nearly all of the slavishly subservient to the direction of Moscow.

    When Benito Mussolini took power in Italy he had finally achieved his first goal. Him and his ideas had started to gain popularity through out the nation. HE wanted to bring Italy back to greatness and make the a leading power in the new world. He took control of the government without firing a shot. He started to share his beliefs with the entire country slowly making it a contending power.

    In Europe many countries had slightly and slowly recovered from the depression. Many people had a good feeling of life and people had started to try and make things better. Countries started to reach out and make amends with each other. Treaties and agreements were made to increase relations and ease reparations. Germany was admitted into the league of nations in this time. Countries were starting to leave behind the dispute of would war 1.

    When Lenin died Stalin rose to power in Russia. When Stalin defeated his last major political rival for power and take full control of the nation. Through out the country Stalin tries to make Russia an industrial power house. He uses force to and rear to control the nation. He used purges and the fear of what the government would do keep people in line and make them meet production quotas. He spread his communist beliefs with everyone in the nation and outside of it.

    In October the stock market crashed in the United States. Stock value was at an all time low and the amount of money for the demand was out of balance. This starts a would wide depression because of countries that the United States were helping. When the depression hit the US did not have enough money to support its self. It was worst in 1931 but the depression started to end around the end of 1929. In some places the depression lasted much longer and had lasting affects on some countries.

    When the treaty of Versailles was created japan was not really considered. In 1931 they invaded Manchuria in an undeclared war. The league of nations tried to limit and constrain japan but the attempts failed this weakened the trust people had in the league of nations.

    In 1933 Adolf Hitler became chancellor of Germany. Within a couple of months the Nazi party had full control of the entire country. The started to expand the military against the Treaty of Versailles . Hitler wants to start preparations fro another war that will bring Germany back to power and gain reputation of being the strongest.
