Japan sends an aircraft carrier force across the Pacific to attack the U.S. fleets Pearl Harbor base. The Japaneese though they might interfere with their expansion to the South. They killed about 2400 Americans and sunk 5 of the battleships. U.S. enters the war.

In his underground bunker Hitler shots himself in the head. He rarely left his bunker that had its own water supply and 18 rooms.

German troops lay down their arms and surrender. Surrender treaties are signed. After Hitler died the Nazis had no chance of winning. People all over the world rejoice at the news of the end of the war with Germany.
