    Between April 9, 1940 to May 9, 1945 Germany fought and/or invaded Holland, Belgium, France, Denmark, Norway, Romania, Yugoslavia, Greece, Estonia, the Soviet Union and USA. All countries surrendered or lost their battle with Germany except for the Soviet Union and USA who defeated Germany. This is significant because it shows that Germany was another dominant country during this war. Canada's role in these battles were sending supplies to their allies like England, France, etc.

    During July 10, 1940 to October 31, 1940 the Battle of Britain took place. This event is significant because this was the first battle in World War II that Germany lost. Canada helped Britain defeat Germany by sending their air force.

    On Augest 19, 1942 5000 Canadians went to the town of Dieppe. Canadians planned to make a frontal assault on the town of Dieppe but failed terribly with 1000 died and almost 2000 taken as prisoners. The significance of this raid is that this was one of Canada's biggest failures.
