May 10, 1940 Germany uses quick strikes called blitzberg to take over the Netherlands and Belguim. Jun 10, 1940 Italy enters as a member of the Axis powers. Germany, Japan, and Italy are known as the Axis power. Jun 22, 1941 Germany invades the Soviet Union. Dec 7, 1941 The japanese attack the United States Navy in Pearl Harbor so the next day the United states enters the war on the Allies Jun 4, 1942 The United States deafeats the Japanese Navy at the Battle of Midway Sep 3, 1943 Itally surenders to the Allies Jun 6, 1944 Allied forces invade France at Normandy and push back. Dec 16, 1944 The Germans fight again but lose to the Allies. Mar 26, 1945 Allied troops capture Iwo Jima Apr 12, 1945 Franklin D.Roosevelt dies.He is succeded by Harry Truman. May 7, 1945 Germany surrenders to the Allies ending the war in Europe. Aug 6, 1945 The United States drops an atomic bomb on Hiroshima ,Japan. Aug 9, 1945 Another atomic bomb is dropped on Nagaski ,Japan. Sep 2, 1945 Japan surrenders to the Allies ,ending the war.
