    Treaty of Versailles
    The Treaty of Versailles was the treaty that ended aggression in World War I. The treaty was written and signed by the Allies, or "winning" force of the war. The treaty was written and pointed direct blame at Germany and forced them to pay reperations for the costs of war. This created tension between Germany and the Allies.
  • Hitler is elected chancellor of Germany

    Hitler is elected chancellor of Germany
    Hitler was the leader of the nazi party in Germany. After losing the presidential election in 1932 he was elected chancellor in 1933. With this new power Hitler was able to gain complete control over Germany in the following months. Next he would set his plans to conquer into motion.

    Germanys annexation of Czechoslovakia
    Germany, under Hitler's rule, mobilized their military to go and took over the country of Czechoslovakia. Hitler was told to stop invading countries. The deal was that this would be the last one and the allies would not attack Hitler.

    Nazi and the USSR shocked the entire world by signing a non- aggression pact shortly before World War II. The pact stated that Russia and Germany would not engage in military conflict of ten years. This was done by Germany to ensure that in their invasion of Poland they would have very little opposition

    Invasion of Poland
    The invasion of Poland was of no suprise. The night before the invasion men in polish uniforms (German prisoners) went into German radio towers. The next day Germany launched a full scare invasion of the country.

    After Germany had taken over several other countries and had sparked World War I. Germany set its sights on France. Once the battle for France began it was over quickly. Germany now had strategic points surrounding Britain where they could attack from.

    This failure for the German military showed how Germany could lose. The Germans used Blitzkreig in an attempt to bomb the city's and encounter as little resistance as possible. The battle ended when German forces were forced out of the area by British and French forces.
  • Operation Barbarossa

    Operation Barbarossa
    Operation Barbarossa was the attack on the USSR by their partners Germany. The Germans attacked in the summer in hopes the war would be over by winter. By the time winter came around the ill equipped German soldiers were forced to retreat.

    The Japanese attack on the naval base in Hawaii was the first attack on United States soil during the war. The attack was done by Japanese bombers in an attempt to take out the United States Navy
  • Bataan Death March

    Bataan Death March
    The Bataan Death March began after American and Philippine soldiers surrendered to Japanese forces. The 75,000 men were forced to march 65 miles to a prisoner of war camp. Exact figures are unknown but it is estimated that thousands of soldiers died on the march. Thousands more died when they reached the camp. On the march those who fell and were unable to get up were shot and killed by the Japanese men who held them captive.
