This is the trigger of WW2. Hitler's catches Poland unawares, with his "blitzkrieg", or lightning war, and has a large portion of Poland within the day. He scared the public with SS regiments and had control of the country quite quickly.

While Germany starts invading Poland from the west, the Soviet Union finishes up on the east. On this day, the Polish government is dismantled. Both Germany and the Soviet Union, both kept drilling into Poland until they met. Germany gave a lot of the land they had gotten to the Soviet Union, per the non-aggression pact between Germany and the Soviet Union.

At first, the French believed themselves to be safe because they built fortifications based off of Germany's attacks in WWI. The Germans changed their attack plan and attacked closer to Belgium, where France's forces' were weaker. Eventually, after extreme strategic measures, Germany pushes into France.

On this day, Germany finally gets to Paris. Canada also arrives and is starting its opposition, but French citizens have mostly fled and Paris is being oppressed.

During these two months, the Soviet Union grabbed onto the nearby Baltic nations. They took Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. They pressured them militarily and financially until they surrendered.

This battle was when Britain had to defend against Germany's raids and bombings. It was a few of the Royal Air Force versus all of Germany's air force, but in the end after countless fights, they won.

This was an agreement between the U.S. and Britain, that if the U.S. gave naval ships to Britain, then they would receive island bases. This way the U.S. could get closer to Europe and Britain would have more firepower.

Two days after the first raid on London, 900 German aircraft, 300 of which were bombers, started attacking the London docks. They mostly missed and hit residential areas around it. This continued for another 76 nights, and even sometimes during the day.

Also called Operation Barbarossa, this was when Germany betrayed one of its most trusted allies. Germany failed and then had to fight a two-front war. This is probably one of the crucial reasons of why they lost.

Since Germany and Japan were allies, they both had to help each other in war. Since the U.S. got added on to the war, Germany officially declared war on the U.S. As soon, as the U.S. got the German's declaration of war, they voted to go to war themselves, becuase of Pearl Harbor and the declaration of war on them.

This battle was midway between Japan and the U.S and was the turning point of the battles between the U.S. and Japan. After moths of being deceived by the U.S. and its troop placements, the U.S. placed down thousands of troops. They successfully started to push Germany back and take back their land.

After Germany surrendered, Japan still wouldn't surrender and had to be forced into surrendering. The bomb was placed in hopes of surrender, but Japan didn't give in that easy.

Even after Hiroshima was bombed, Japan still aggressed, and so the U.S. decided that they would have to bomb them one more time, to teach them a lesson. Soon after bombing Japan, Japan surrendered.

On this much remembered day, hundreds of Japanese fighter planes attacked a U.S. base near Honolulu, Hawaii called Pearl Harbor.
