One day after the Pearl Harbor attack, President Franklin D. Roosevelt asked congress to join war with Japan. Only one vote was against the proposal. After two years of conflict, America finally joined WWII.

Ten weeks after Pearl Harbor, the President made executive order 9066. This removed any person or persons from militarily areas that seemed desirable. By June more than 110,000 Japanese Americans were in internment camps.
