    The Long March was the start of Mao Zedongs road to power. The Communist Party of China wanted to invade the Chinese Nationalist Party. This was in China, from Jiangxi to Shaanxi, from 1934-1935.

    Germany invades Poland; France and Great Britain declare war on Germany
    In 1937, Germany and Poland signed a nonaggressional pact. A couple years later, to Polands surprise, Germans invaded Poland. The Polish army was defeated within weeks of the first strike. Great Britain and France relized Hitler was not someone they wanted to be allied with, so they declared war on Germany.

    On December 7th, 1941, came a devasting day in US history. Japanese planes flew over Pearl Harbor Bay in Hawaii, releasing bombs down. Isoroku Yamamoto was the leader of the Japanese troops. Common belief is that these attacks were especially shocking to the Americans because they thought it was impossible for someone to bomb them.

    On May 7, 1945, Germany surrendered at Allied headquarters in Reims, France. This was to be effective immediately. On April 30th, 1945, Adolf Hitler put a bullet in his mouth, really ending World War II.

    Allies use atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki
    On August 6th, 1945, the first atomic bomb was released over the city of Hiroshima. It wiped out 90 percent of the city with the initial blast, and later killed thousands and thousands due to radiation. Three days later, another bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, killing an estimated forty-thousand people. Then Japan's Emperor Hirohito announced Japan's surrender in World War II.
