  • Italy Declares War

    Italy declares war on France and Great Britain, which aligns Italy with Germany and against the Allies.
  • Attack on Pearl Harbor

    The Japanese begin the war in the Pacific by attacking U.S. naval base Pearl Harbor. This ultimately brought the United States into the war, and started their attack on Japan.
  • Battle of Stalingrad Begins

    Germany turns and tries to launch an attack on Russia in the city of Stalingrad. If they could have Russia, they would have a majority of Asia at their disposal.
  • Germany Invades France

    Germany invades the parts of France controlled by the Vichy government. The United States sends troop to aid them.
  • Battle of Stalingrad Ends

    After months of fighting, Russians stop the Germans from advancing after they loss thousands to weather and war.
  • D-Day

    United States troops attack Germans in France from the shore. They took the Germans completely by surprise and was able to defeat them and march on to Berlin.
  • Hitler Commits Suicide

    Adolf Hitler, Chancellor of Germany, drugs himself and his wife, which kills them both.
  • Germany Surrenders

    United States and Russia took Germany and forced them to surrender, especially after Hitler committed suicie.
  • Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

    In response to Pearl Harbor, the United States dropped the first ever and only atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which killed thousands of Japanese people.
  • Japan Surrenders

    Japan surrenders to United States because of the casualties of the bombings and Germany had also surrendered. This officially ended World War II.
