After the attack, the United States declare war on Japan and the US enters World War II

Japan and the US go to war against eachother. The Pacific War started with Pearl Harbor and ended when Japan surrendered. At one point, the US attacked the island Tarawa and in the end, 1500 Americans died along with 4800 Japanese.

President Roosevelt decides to air bomb Tokyo, Japan. The US wanted the element of surprise and so they decide to launch aircrafts into Tokyo. The damage wasn't incredible, but it does shake the Japanese people and their Government.

German forces at Stalingrad surrendered. After this, Germans began a withdrawal from Russia.

American troops went into France to attack Germany. More than 5,000 ships and 13,000 air crafts supported this invasion. By the ends day, nearly 9,000 allied troops were killed or injured, but more than 100,000 soldiers began their march across Europe to defeat Hitler.
