The battle of St. Mihiel was the first U.S.-led attack in World War One. The attack was on the Saint Mihiel salient and this provided the Americans a chance to use their forces at the Western Front En Masse. They lacked tactical skills compared to their counterparts, but their determination and advanced attack strategy helped this battle result in an allied victory.

Meuse-Argonne was a battle that was started at 5:30 am on the morning of September 26, 1918. More than 700 allied tanks and infantry troopers were advancing to Germany’s position. Their goal was to cut off the entire German 2nd army, and by the following morning they had captured over 23,000 German troops and advanced up to 6 miles in some areas.

The battle of Blanc Mont Ridge was a battle bravely fought by the U.S. Marines. They were exposing themselves to enemy fire while fighting on the ridge. The battle was eventually won by the Second Division Marines, who were a part of the Fourth French Army. And due to this victory, the Germans had to retreat back from the Champagne Region.

The Armistice of November 11, 1918, was signed by Germany at Le Francport near Compiègne and ended all fighting on land, air, and sea. Previous to this, Bulgaria, the Ottoman Empire, and Austro-Hungary had already signed armistices of their own.

The treaty of Versailles was the most important document signed throughout all of World War One. It was the document that said that the fighting between Germany and the Allied powers was over. It was officially effective on January 10, 1920.
